Understanding

The bible speaks against divination.

Ezekiel 13:23 King James Version (KJV) “Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”

But Joseph could divine

Genesis 44:15 King James Version (KJV) “And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

As i see it practicing the art of divination is basically :

(Leviticus 19:31 [KJV]) Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Using scripture to understand the world is not divination. Its acquiring wisdom.

(Psalms 119:99 [KJV]) I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

But some would say its judging and we are not to judge.

(Matthew 7:1-2 [KJV]) [1] Judge not, that ye be not judged.

[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

But its really only judging if you tell it to people. Its not judging if you rather use scripture for discernment, then its discernment rather than judging.

Then its understanding.

(I Corinthians 14:20 [KJV]) Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
