IPD for moneychanger.

This is an IPD for those who make merchandise of the gospel, those that sell the gospel.

Jesus calls the moneychangers thieves when he overthrew their tables in the temple Matthew 21:12. Jesus also uses the term thief in John 10:1.

(Matthew 21:12-13 [KJV])
[12] And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
[13] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
(Mark 11:15-18 [KJV])
 [15] And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
[16] And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
[17] And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
[18] And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
(Luke 19:45-46 [KJV])
 [45] And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
[46] Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

If you see someone having a ministry and he sells something then stop listening to him. If you make merchandise of gods word then you are grieving the holy ghost.

The false teachers in 2 Peter 2:3 make merchandise of believers.

(II Peter 2:3 [KJV]) And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Jesus says in Mt:5-10 that the gospel is not to be sold but rather freely given.

(Matthew 10:5-10 [KJV])
[5] These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
[6] But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
[7] And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
[8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
[9] Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
[10] Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

There are many ministries that sell books or courses or tickets to events or CDs or DVDs. These people do not follow Jesus teachings "freely ye have received, freely give" rather they "make merchandise of you" they try to serve God and Mammon but that is impossible "Ye cannot serve God and mammon" so they serve Mammon only, even though they can claim that they serve Jesus.

(Matthew 6:19-32 [KJV])
[19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
[20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
[21] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
[22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
[23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
[24] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
[25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
[26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
[27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
[28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
[29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
[30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
[31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
[32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
(Acts 8:18-23 [KJV])
[18] And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
[19] Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
[20] But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
[21] Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
[22] Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
[23] For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

Notice Simon in Acts 8 who wants to buy the power to give the holy ghost to others. Many christian buy books thinking that they will get some power, get more power in God. They fit here as being in the bond of iniquity and needing to repent of their wickedness. So also a believer that buys from these ministries that sell the gospel are in trouble with God. So it is not just the ministries, it is also those that buy their stuff.

Chapter summary II Corinthians CHAP. XI.
1 Out of his ielousie ouer the Corinthians, who seemed to make more account of the false apostles, then of him, he entreth into a forced commendation of himselfe, 5 of his equalitie with the chiefe Apostles, 7 of his preaching the Gospel to them freely, and without any their charge, 13 shewing that hee was not inferiour to those deceitfull workers, in any legall prerogatiue, 13 and in the seruice of Christ, and in all kind of sufferings for his ministery, farre superiour.
(II Corinthians 11:7-12 [KJV])
[7] Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
[8] I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
[9] And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
[10] As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
[11] Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
[12] But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

As you can see in chapter summary of 2cor11 of his preaching the Gospel to them freely, and without any their charge, and also in the verses I was chargeable to no man that we should not sell the gospel. This stuff about robbed other churches. I believe that is churches that are not of God.

What shall we do with Moneychangers ?

We should stop listening to preachers or ministries that sell the gospel, like books and DVDs etc. Asking for donation is allowed but not selling the gospel.
